Join us for the  2024 PTA/M.A.C.K. Back-to-School Picnic on Friday, September 20!

Pre-order your taco or quesadilla plates by September 14 at PTA online store.

Friendly reminders:

  • No animals or alcohol allowed on campus.
     
  • You may bring your own food, drinks, chairs, and blankets.
     
  • 6th graders will be selling baked goods and drinks to support their Camp Pali trip!
     
  • The whole family is welcome!

Recurring Programs & Events

PTA Association Meetings (monthly): Stay informed about our school. Learn more about PTA.

Teacher Luncheons: Pre-scheduled luncheons for our faculty and staff hosted by assigned grade levels.

Assemblies (throughout the school year): Special program presentations, from outside vendors, covering various topics like the environment, bullying, science, etc.

Beautification (a few times throughout the school year): Volunteer efforts to keep our school looking great!

Room Parents (throughout the school year): Parent volunteer liaisons for each classroom to communicate to parents about school events and volunteer needs.

Spirit Wear Sales (2-4 times throughout the school year): Mountain Avenue gear sold to show school spirit. Go Bears!

Yearbook (throughout the school year, but especially in April and May):  

One-Time Programs & Events

TK/K Meet & Greet (beginning of school year): PTA welcomes families new to Mountain Avenue.

No Sweat Fundraiser & Membership Drive (beginning of school year): Joint drive of membership campaign and our largest fundraiser of the year.

Reflections Art Program (Fall: Kick-off in September. Entries due in early October. Awards ceremony in November.): National PTA Art Program - provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life

Red Ribbon Week (usually last week of October): Celebrating healthy choices with fun spirit days

Halloween Carnival (mid/late October): Halloween celebration

Glendale Council PTA Fall Food Drive (November): Numerous school PTAs gather contributions from their families to prepare Thanksgiving meals for families in need.

Scholastic Book Fair (usually early December): Buying books to support our school

Holiday Shoppe (usually mid/late December): Holiday shopping available for students

Drama Program (usually January): a week-long event, from auditions to performance of a musical -- not currently scheduled for this year

Variety Show (usually January/February): Mountain Avenue's Got Talent! annual talent show

Science Fun Fair (usually January/February): Any student (grades TK-6) may submit a project in any science field that fuels their curiosity.

PTA Founders' Day (early March): celebration of the founding of PTA, including the presentation of Honorary Service Awards

Culture Night (usually April): celebrating the diverse cultures of Mountain Avenue

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (early May): PTA showers teachers and staff with treats to show our appreciation

Art Night (May): gallery viewing of our Mountain Avenue artists, with artwork from every student -- usually coincides with Open House

Field Day (May/June): end-of-the-year field "sport" day, friendly blue-vs-yellow competition

Visual Arts Program: Volunteer-supported art classes, tailored to the different grade levels. School-wide Art Show at the end of the year!

School Garden: Led by our School Garden Team. New in 2021-2022. Increasing student participation in our remodeled school garden.
