What is M.A.C.K.?
Mountain Avenue Committed to Kids (M.A.C.K.) is a non-profit 501c(3) organization consisting of parents, teachers and staff committed to promoting quality education for the children at Mountain Avenue School. This is done primarily by raising money and funding grant requests from teachers and staff. M.A.C.K. was created in 1992 by Grace Chase, a PTA mom, because National PTA by-laws prevent expenditures in some areas of need for our school.
M.A.C.K. Mission Statement
M.A.C.K., in partnership with the Mountain Avenue community, raises funds to support ALL children at Mountain Avenue Elementary School in their individual pursuit of an excellent academic, creative, and physical education by supplying needed resources.
M.A.C.K. Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is M.A.C.K.'s largest fundraiser of the year. The suggested donation is A MINIMUM of $150 PER CHILD enrolled at Mountain Avenue. That is less than $1/day! All monies donated go directly to Mountain Avenue. You can also spread your donation out over the year by setting up a recurring gift of as little as $15/month from your credit or debit card. Annual Meeting
On October 10th, 2024, we will host our annual M.A.C.K. meeting on campus. The meeting will feature a performance by the TK and Kindergarten classes and dinner provided by our generous dine-out partners: Hello Pizza and Koko Roll, Honeybird, India's Flavor, and Valeu Espetos.
M.A.C.K. Move-a-thon
Mountain Avenue students will be Moving for M.A.C.K. to raise funds for the 2024-2025 school year. This year we are holding a “Move-a-thon” that will take place Friday, April 11th (weather permitting.) Students can get pledges OR a flat donation can be made per lap. Watch your student's Thursday Folder and online school flyers for more information. M.A.C.K. Night Out
M.A.C.K. Night Out is a fun, adult only evening out. Highlights include food and drinks, music and an auction benefiting M.A.C.K. The event is always well-attended and a chance for teachers, staff and parents to come together socially and show their support of our school and our non-profit educational foundation, M.A.C.K.
This year, M.A.C.K. Night Out will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Brookside Country Club in Pasadena. Save the date and watch online school communications for ticketing details.
Board Meetings
Parents and staff members are welcome to join our monthly board meetings which are generally held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month via Zoom. Please contact Coreen Hoffstadt if you would like to attend.
