It's time for M.A.C.K.'s Annual Fund—our most important fundraiser of the year! As one of three major fundraising efforts, the Annual Fund plays a vital role in supporting the many programs, tools, and resources that help enrich the educational experience at Mountain Avenue Elementary.
Your generous contribution directly benefits our students by funding classroom supplies, educational initiatives, technology, enrichment programs, and more. Every dollar raised goes right back into our school community!

What is M.A.C.K.?
Mountain Avenue Committed to Kids (M.A.C.K.) is a non-profit 501c(3) organization consisting of parents, teachers and staff committed to promoting quality education for the children at Mountain Avenue School. This is done primarily by raising money and funding grant requests from teachers and staff. M.A.C.K. was created in 1992 by Grace Chase, a PTA mom, because National PTA by-laws prevent expenditures in some areas of need for our school.
M.A.C.K. Mission Statement
M.A.C.K., in partnership with the Mountain Avenue community, raises funds to support ALL children at Mountain Avenue Elementary School in their individual pursuit of an excellent academic, creative, and physical education by supplying needed resources.
Monthly Meetings
Parents and staff members are welcome to join our monthly meetings which are generally held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month via Google Meet. We will put the link in the Thursday Update the Thursday before each meeting. If you would like a formal calendar invite, please email mountainavecommittedtokids@gmail.com.
Key M.A.C.K. Events
M.A.C.K. Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is M.A.C.K.'s largest fundraiser of the year. The suggested donation starts at $150 per child enrolled at Mountain Avenue. That is less than $1/day! All monies donated go directly to Mountain Avenue. You can also spread your donation out over the year by setting up a recurring gift of as little as $15/month from your credit or debit card. Click the "Donate Now" link above for online donations. We also accept checks made out to M.A.C.K., which can be mailed to Mountain Avenue: 2307 Mountain Avenue, La Crescenta, CA, 91214.
Annual Meeting
On Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 5:30pm, we will host our annual M.A.C.K. meeting on campus. The meeting will feature a performance by the TK and Kindergarten classes.
M.A.C.K. Move-A-Thon
Mountain Avenue students will be moving for M.A.C.K. to raise funds for the 2025-26 school year. This year we are holding a “Move-A-Thon” that will take place Friday, April 17th, 2025 during school hours (weather permitting). Students can get pledges OR a flat donation can be made per lap. Watch your student's Thursday Folder and online school flyers for more information. M.A.C.K. Night Out
M.A.C.K. Night Out is a fun, adults-only evening out that happens every other year. M.A.C.K. is excited to host this event once again in 2027.
M.A.C.K. Annual Auction
An Annual Auction takes place each winter and typically coincides with a Mountain Avenue event. We will be offering many valuable items and baskets to raise money for the school. Each year, our Annual Auction is a highlight for students, as families also have the opportunity to bid on exciting teacher experiences like 'Principal for the Day', 'Pizza and a Movie' or a semi-private outing with their teacher, and much more!
