Understand Place Value

Students will use exponents to write powers of 10 and calculate products.  They will read and write whole numbers using standard from, expanded form, and number names.  They must also represent decimals to thousandths as fractions and fractions with denominators of 1,000 as decimals, and read and write decimals in different ways.  Next, they’ll use place value to compare decimals and round them to different places.  They will utilize all of these standards to solve word problems.
